In 1935, he entered the theater school at the Meyerhold State Theater, but never finished it, since the theater was closed in 1938. In 1939 he moved to the Leningrad Comedy Theater. Back in 1937, he made his screen debut in the role of young Alexander Gorchakov, comrade A.S. Pushkin, in the film “The Youth of the Poet,” work in which probably left the young artist with a desire to act further. Therefore, having received an offer in May 1940 to join the acting staff of the Soyuzdetfilm film studio, he accepted it. From 1945 to 1951, he was a member of the troupe of the State Film Actor Theater (since 1948 - the Film Actor Studio Theatre), then worked for a short time at the Theater of the Group of Soviet Forces in Austria. In the late 1950s he returned to films and acted virtually until the end of his life, playing small character and dramatic roles.
