本片讲述的是伊朗女子五人制足球队队长阿芙露兹的遭遇。球队史上首次打进国际比赛的决赛，就在全队高高兴兴准备出境去吉隆坡时，阿芙露兹却被告知由于丈夫的限制，她不能出境。阿芙露兹已经和丈夫分居一年了，夫妻关系本来就是有名无实。阿芙露兹无奈向协会求助，换来的却是早已对她心怀不满的领导的冷嘲热讽。走投无路的阿芙露兹不得不去找她的丈夫，国家电视台的节目主持人亚西尔。阿芙露兹委曲求全，亚西尔假意奉迎。最终两人在法庭进行了听证会。不管阿芙露兹和她的律师怎么说，法官如何劝导，亚西尔就是打定主意，坚决不同意离婚，法官也无法做出有过错离婚的判决。最后，阿芙露兹依然无法出境，国家队的名额也被别人替代。
