May was best known for her memorable roles as the infected Nurse Helen in Apocalypse domani (1980) and the bitchy Mrs. Reston in the notorious slasher cult classic Mil gritos tiene la noche (1982). Heatherly underwent hip replacement surgery in May, 2013. May died at age 73 on October 6, 2015 in Madrid, Spain.
